How does this service help me decide?
Our chat service is intended to be a one-stop shop for navigating your healthcare needs by directing you to experts across Baylor Scott & White Health. If you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms, our goal is to guide you to the best place of care for your needs.
Depending on the time of day, you can discuss your options with a Care Guide. If needed, our centralized Scheduling Team can assist you in making an appointment. Additionally, this chat service can direct you to the right teams for follow-up care and medication refills.

Who am I chatting with?
Help Me Decide is a combination of automated responses and a live chat with our health team members who provide advice and assistance so you can take your next steps.
Team members include Care Guides—nurse navigators who will advise you on available care options. If you need to schedule an appointment, a member of our Scheduling Team will join and make you an appointment with a clinic that meets your needs, including finding the quickest available time.

When is this service available?
Our chat service is available 24/7 so that you get a recommendation on the next best steps, no matter the day or time.
The Care Guides are available daily, with extended hours:

Who is eligible for this service?
Anyone with a MyBSWHealth account can access Help Me Decide, which is free and easy to set up. Our clinics have procedures for scheduling appointments for minors under 18, and those will still apply.

Is this chat going to be stored in my BSWH medical record?
Currently, the history of the chat will only be available within BSW Care Guide and is available for review under the History tab. When necessary for supporting a transition to a site of care, your Care Guide may document notes in your medical record to inform your provider of the reason for the recommendation to that place of care.

Who is eligible to use this?
Currently, access to this app is by invitation only for eligible BSWH employees and their adult dependents based on various factors. Individuals eligible to participate in the product launch should have received an email outlining the service and how to access the app. Don’t worry! Invitations will be extended to more employees in later phases.

If I received an invite, can my family use this too?
At this time, eligible employees and their adult dependents can use this service. Minor children are currently not eligible to use this service.

How can I download and install the app on my mobile device?
The BSW Care Guide App is available in the Apple App and Google Play stores.
Access is limited to invite-only users. If invited, you will receive an access code via email, which will be required to create an account. Please enter code "BETTER" to access the app.

What do I do if I have feedback or additional questions?
Your input matters! Throughout the pilot, we will be surveying registered employees about functionality and future enhancements. You can also share your feedback directly by emailing BSWCareGuide@BSWHealth.org.
