Safe Sitter® Program

Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's

About the program

Safe Sitter® courses provide young teens (ages 11-17) life and safety skills needed for babysitting.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Perform child and infant CPR techniques
  • Rescue a child or infant who is choking
  • Care for children of all ages
  • Prevent problem behavior
  • Prevent possible injury and decide on the seriousness if someone is injured

To become a Safe Sitter®, students must pass a written and practical exam. Parents and friends are invited to attend the graduation ceremony to recognize the Safe Sitters® at the end of the day.
