We all recognize the importance and value of spiritual care during times of illness and stress. For parents and patients of Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's – Temple, our department of pastoral care is ready to support you and your family 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
Interfaith Chapel
The Baugh-Chiles Chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital behind the Donor Wall in the main lobby and is available for all patients and visitors to the hospital. It is open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., seven days a week. Chapel services are held Sunday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. TV channels for spiritual care are located on 20 (TBN) and 21 (EWTN). For relaxation, patients and family may go to the main menu, select "For Fun" and select Relaxation to see a 30-minute video with relaxation techniques.
Chaplain
Please call 254.935.4159. A chaplain is available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. After regular business hours or for emergency issues, talk to your nurse and a chaplain can be contacted.
Professional chaplains respect and respond to a patient's values and beliefs. Illness or injury can bring isolation, fear, doubt, and grief. The chaplain’s special focus of caring is directed toward the person who has the sickness or injury. The chaplain addresses these crises through spiritual care that emphasizes transcendence, faith, and hope, thus promoting healing and recovery.
