Adoption Assistance

All full-time employees who have worked with BSW for at least 12 consecutive months may be eligible to receive adoption assistance.*

* This does not cover foster care, legal guardianship or adoption of a spouse’s child.

How It Works

We’ll reimburse you up to $4,000 for adoption and legal fees for each child you adopt under age 18 who is not biologically related to you (or your spouse, if married). Each family can be reimbursed for up to two adoptions.

Child or Elder Care

Back-up Care

Through our partnership with Bright Horizons, you have access to discounts for ongoing and back-up child, as well as elder care services. When schools close or your regular care provider is unavailable, you can access up to 10 days of deeply discounted, high-quality back-up care in 2020.

This is an increase from our standard offering in response to the COVID crisis. Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, our program will revert back to an annual offering of 5 days.
Center-based care
  • Choose from a participating center near you
  • $15 a day for one child or $25 a day for two or more kids
In-home care
  • Bright Horizons will assess your needs and arrange a certified provider to care for your children at your home
  • $6 per hour (four-hour minimum) for up to three children

Discounts on Care

If you are looking for ongoing, full-time care in a child care center, take advantage of preferred enrollment and registration fee credit, or tuition discounts.

  • Preferred enrollment and credit: Get a bump on the waiting list at select Bright Horizons care centers, plus a registration fee credit after 30 days of enrollment.
  • Tuition discounts: Receive a discount up to 10% at a participating high-quality center from the Bright Horizons network.

Nannies and Sitters

Finding a caregiver to come to your home can be a daunting process. But with your benefits, you have access to two programs that can assist you your search for a nanny or sitter.

Nanny placement service

Get personalized help from a local nanny agency with recruiting, vetting and selecting a nanny to match your family’s needs.

  • $300 savings on the placement fee
  • 10% discount on the hourly rates for the nanny you select
SitterCity

Access a comprehensive database of care options—including nannies and sitters—to search caregiver profiles, or post a job for caregivers to apply; you can also select care and pay for service directly.

  • Free membership (normally $98 per year)
  • Free basic background checks
  • Discounts on enhanced background and motor vehicle checks

Sittercity also offers the option to locate a “virtual sitter” who can remotely help your children with schoolwork, play games and lead other engaging activities. An adult must be present in your home to use this service.

How It Works
